Man pleads not guilty to seven charges
A 21-year-old Columbia Falls man charged in three cases pleaded not guilty to a bevy of charges Thursday in Flathead District Court.
Cameron Carr faces two felony charges of assault on a peace officer, felony criminal endangerment, felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and felony criminal possession of drug paraphernalia as well as misdemeanor charges of fleeing from or eluding a peace officer and resisting arrest.
The charges resulted from a July 1, 2011, incident in which Carr allegedly fled from Kalispell police officers in a car in Woodland Park, nearly hitting the officers and several other people who ran out of the way. When the officers later located the car, they found drug paraphernalia inside.
Carr faces between six and 37 years in prison and a fine of up to $203,000 if convicted on all charges.
He already has pleaded not guilty to attempted robbery in a separate case, although it is possible that charge will be dropped.
A conviction on that charge carries a penalty of between two years and 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
In a third case, Carr has pleaded not guilty to felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on both charges, he could face up to 5 1/2 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,500.
