Man says he's being falsely accused of murder

A man on Cedar Drive called the Flathead County Sheriff's Office early Monday morning to say that a woman keeps calling him and accusing him of killing her mother and son. The man said he has recordings of the calls and that he would like an officer to listen to them. The woman called again while the man was on the phone with dispatch.

Sunday night, a 6-year-old child in Evergreen called to report that his dad was trying to kill his mom and that his mom was bleeding. The woman said she was head-butted and bleeding but did not need medical attention.

Earlier Sunday, someone reported a suspicious vehicle parked on Leisure Island.

Deputies responded to a fight on Montana 35 between two men who had been drinking. The victim did not want to press charges and refused medical attention. A woman was arrested on a Montana Highway Patrol warrant.

A snowboard was reported stolen.

Someone broke into a business on Halfmoon Road and stole tools.

Tires were slashed on a pickup that was parked on Summit Avenue. The girlfriend of the victim told deputies the truck has been vandalized several times over the past week.

Sunday morning, a caller reported a suspicious man walking westbound on Foy's Lake Road with a blanket, throwing paper on the side of the road. A deputy advised the garbage was picked up and the man was cited and released.

A woman on Sherman Lane found marijuana in her 14-year-old daughter's wallet while packing her up to go to a youth home.

A woman on Montana 206 near Columbia Falls said some checks were taken from her unlocked vehicle while she was at the bar.

A caller on Montana 82 near Somers said a small white passenger car left a cylinder on the ground at the end of his driveway. A deputy said it was an oxygen tank.

Someone took a wallet out of an unlocked vehicle on O'Brien Terrace in Bigfork. A deputy said it looks like thieves went all over the neighborhood.

Early Sunday morning, a caller on Bells Lane said that someone tried to open the back door. The suspect was on foot with tracks heading toward the woods. Deputies also went to a home on Demersville Road for a theft report, where it sounded like the same suspect took some items.


Sunday morning, a caller told the Columbia Falls Police Department that someone broke into a church on Talbot Road.


The Whitefish Police Department investigated a burglary on Lupfer Avenue reported Sunday morning.

Later in the day, two thefts were reported on U.S. 93.


The Polson Police Department cited someone for obstructing a peace officer after responding to an assault reported on C Avenue West early Sunday morning.

Someone was cited when police responded to a harassment complaint on Seventh Avenue East.
