<p>Jay and Roxanne Wadman hold a photo of their daughter, Alicia "Lisa" Sherman, at their home in Lakeside. Sherman was taken off life support on Dec. 19 in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a savage beating. Sherman's boyfriend of eight years, Dan Folsom, has been charged with her murder.</p>

<p>The Swank Enterprises tower crane lowers insulation Thursday afternoon for the surgical services addition to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Project supervisor Jeff Halsey said that, weather permitting, crews will have a roof on the building and most of the framing done by mid-February. Halsey said the mild winter has made for excellent conditions for construction so far.</p>

<p>Dan Holguin, a framer with RDJ Brothers Inc., of Bigfork, working in the early morning at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center on Tuesday morning, January 10. Jeff Halsey, supervisor of the Surgical Services addition said that weather permitting they will have a roof on the building and have most of the framing done by mid-February. Halsey said the mild winter has made for excellent conditions for construction so far. If things continue as they have the main structure and concrete will be finished in two weeks.</p>

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in a wood pile before it spread to an adjoining garage. The fire was first reported around 4 p.m. by Leonard Johnson, who lives next door. "There was nobody around, so I run over there, but I realized, by god, my little garden hose wouldn't be worth anything there," Johnson said. "So I called the fire department." The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.</span></p> <p> </p>
