Laundry theft leads to arrest

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a woman who said a man had stolen her clothes at a laundry on Montana 35 near Kalispell, and that when her husband confronted the man, he tried to attack him. The man was later arrested on a warrant.

After a traffic stop on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell Sunday, a deputy arrested a man for an out-of-area warrant and for possessing a stolen .45 pistol.

A woman reported that her husband was trashing a trailer house on Ranchettes Lane north of Bigfork. She later reported that he had beaten her up.

There was a report of windows broken out of two vehicles at an address on U.S. 2 in the Hungry Horse area.

A woman calling from a Flathead Drive address reported that her boyfriend stole her laptop computer.

A woman called to report that she was following dogs that had killed her chickens at a Three Mile Drive address. She eventually could no longer keep up with the dogs.

A man reported from a Klondyke Loop address in the Somers area that a person had stolen his PlayStation game console more than a month early and then pawned it.

A woman calling in the Kalispell area reported that her husband attempted to strangle her, and that she was hiding at a neighbor’s house. The matter is under investigation.

A Sager Lane resident reported that he caught a man attempting to syphon gas from a vehicle. After yelling at the thief, the thief fled in a pickup truck. The reporting party called back later, just after midnight Monday, to report that he had located the same truck and was following it to a bar on Montana 35. A deputy later located and arrested the owner of the truck.

There was a report of people vandalizing lawn ornaments at a South Woodland Drive residence.

There was a report of a physical altercation between two women at a Moose Street residence in Coram.

A woman calling Kalispell Police from Summit Ridge Drive reported that items were stolen from her purse during church services Sunday.

There was a criminal mischief report of motorized carts being damaged at a store on First Avenue East North.

Early Monday, at about 4:45 a.m., a man called to report that there was an unwanted intoxicated woman banging on his door at a Fourth Avenue West address.

A person calling from an Eighth Avenue East North address reported the theft of a gun from a vehicle sometime over the last three weeks.

There was a report of tires and wheels stolen from a vehicle dealership on East Idaho Street sometime over the weekend.

A woman called from a Fifth Avenue West residence reporting that her two teenage sons were fighting with each other and she was having a hard time separating them. The boys were counseled by an officer.

There was a report of a person showing up the Kalispell Regional Medical Center emergency room with dangerous drugs that were confiscated by police.

Columbia Falls Police got a call from a Ninth Street West resident who said there was a man in the woods behind her house calling for help. An officer located a man who was later taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

At about 9 p.m. Sunday, there was a report regarding two men fighting over a woman in a parking lot on Nucleus Avenue.

Whitefish Police responded to a report of a fight on Baker Avenue at about 8 p.m. Sunday.

There was a report of a theft at a Central Avenue address.
