One of three men arrested for breaking into Gardner’s RV & Trailer Center pleaded guilty Jan. 20 in Flathead District Court.

Jan Vondrich, 24, pleaded guilty to a felony burglary charge in exchange for a second felony charge of theft being dropped. He now faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

According to court documents, Vondrich and 22-year-old Kyle Egland traveled to the business on the night of Oct. 26, 2011. There, they broke into campers and motorhomes and stole approximately 11 televisions, three DVD players and a stereo. Vondrich then returned with Kevin Everett, 22, and stole more of the same items.

After the theft, a sales manager with Gardner’s estimated the total loss and damage at $20,000.

The thefts were captured on security cameras, and an employee went out looking for the truck used in the crime. It was found with much of the stolen merchandise inside and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was notified.

Vondrich’s sentencing is scheduled for March 1.

A day before Vondrich’s hearing, Everett appeared at a change of plea hearing for a separate case in which he is charged with felony criminal distribution of dangerous drugs and felony criminal endangerment. He didn’t change his plea, however, and was left on the trial schedule. His next hearing is set for Feb. 1.

Everett is charged with felony burglary and felony theft in the Gardner’s case. His trial is set for March 5.

Egland is charged with felony theft and misdemeanor theft. His next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15.

Both Everett and Egland have pleaded not guilty in the Gardner’s case.
