Bravettes bounce back; edge Helena Capital

Flathead rebounded from a difficult loss on Friday to fifth-ranked Helena High by beating Helena Capital 53-52 on Saturday at FHS.

The win gave the Bravettes their first Western AA victory of the season (6-6 overall, 1-3 league).

"Very proud of how our girls responded after the loss last night (62-26)," Flathead coach Karly Tait said.

"Everyone stepped up and played within themselves. We played as a team and played to win from the minute the ball was tipped. It was a great win for the girls and our program."

Emma Andrews and Tess Brenneman keyed the Bravette offense with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Jenessa Heine followed with 10.

Flathead led 29-18 at the half, but Capital (6-7, 2-3) battled back to trail 41-38 heading into the final eight minutes.
