Gauthier, Mariners crush Cranbrook in John R. Harp Tournament

Robbie Gauthier held Cranbrook, B.C., to three hits and Bradley Pichler and Dalton Molzhon both drove in two runs as Mission Valley opened play in the John R. Harp Tournament on Friday with a 12-0 victory at Griffin Field.

Gauthier struck out four batters and issued two walks in the five inning American Legion baseball contest.

Mission Valley scored in every inning but the second, and had back-to-back four-run innings in the third and fourth.

Jacob Young had two of Mission Valley’s six hits.

Eight different Mariners had RBIs.

Mission Valley plays Medicine Hat today at 9:30 a.m. at Archie Roe Field and Ferris at 2:30 p.m. at Griffin Field.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Libby pulled out a one-run win over the Camas Prairie Zyphers and then settled for a tie with Hyrum, Utah, during second-day play at the Clancy Ellis Memorial Tournament.

Micah Germany went the distance on the mound in the victory, limiting Camas Prairie to four hits. He also paced the offense, going 2 for 3.

In the tie, Germany continued his offensive ways with a 3 for 3 outing.

Libby, 2-0-1 in tournament play, is back in action today.

MISSOULA — The Missoula Mavericks swept a doubleheader from the Mission Valley Mariners B.

The second game was called in the top of the fourth when a Mariners players was injured. That left the Mariners with eight players.
