Lindholm, Lee lead 4th of July tourney

WHITEFISH — Kalispell’s Logan Lindholm and Great Falls’ Morgan Lee hold the early leads after the first day of the Fourth of July tournament at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. 

Golfing the North Course, Lindholm shot a 68 to take a one stroke lead on the rest of the field. Whitefish’s Reed Platke sits in a group of four golfers just one stroke back, while Kalispell’s Grahm Schmaltz (71) and Whitefish’s Shawn Tucker (72) remain close. A total of 19 golfers are within the four shots of the lead after the first round.

On the women’s side, Lee holds a two-stroke lead after shooting a 74. Five women are within five shots, including Whitefish’s Chelsea Ray and Libby’s Jackie Mee, who are each four shots back after shooting a first-round 78.
