Medley, Lee take Fourth of July Tournament titles

WHITEFISH — Andrew Medley of Scottsdale, Ariz., shot a 4-under 68 on the North Course on the final day of the 76th annual Fourth of July Tournament Saturday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club to claim a two-shot victory in the 54-hole event.

On the women’s side, Morgan Lee of Great Falls was a wire-to-wire winner, closing with a 6-over 78 on the South Course for a 232 total and a two-shot victory over Lindsay Reeve of Ronan, 79-77-78—234, and Maggie Crippen of Missoula, 86-71-77—234.

Lee opened with rounds of 74 and 80.

It was the second straight 68 for Medley, who finished with a 207 total.

Kramer Hickock of Plano, Texas, 69-69-71—209, and Ben Leestma of Great Falls, 70-71-68—209, tied for second.

Medley and Leestma had the best rounds on the last day of play.

Logan Lindholm of Kalispell, who led the first two rounds, finished six shots behind the winner, 68-70-75—213, in fourth place.

Whitefish’s Reed Platke was fifth, 69-70-76—215.

Rounding out the top five for the women were: Chelsea Ray, Whitefish, 78-87-78—243, and Haylee Folkvord of Bozeman, 83-82-78—243. They tied for fourth.
