Man takes revenge on thieving newspaper box
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday regarding a man who insisted that a Great Falls newspaper vending box took his money, and he was demanding a refund from a store in Hungry Horse. When he was told that the store didn’t own the box, he threatened to get a hammer to get his money back. The clerk thought he was joking, but the man went into his motor home and got something that he used to break the handle off the box before driving away.
There was a report of three vehicles being ransacked on Emerald Lane in the Whitefish, but it was unknown if items were taken.
Someone reported that a vehicle was broken into on Houston Drive in the Whitefish area, with a Taurus pistol being stolen.
Someone reported that a storage shed was broken into off U.S. 2 West in the Marion area, and several items were stolen. It was later discovered that several storage sheds were broken into.
There was a report of a man exposing himself to a woman as she returned to her vehicle on Conrad Drive.
A woman calling from Belton Stage Road in the West Glacier area reported that someone had stabbed a tire on her vehicle with a knife.
A woman calling from West Evergreen Drive reported that a cellphone, an iPod, house keys and clothes were stolen from her vehicle.
A Haskill Basin Road resident reported that subjects in a vehicle had been repeatedly trespassing on his property.
A person calling from Montana 206 in the Columbia Falls area reported that someone slashed tires on his vehicle and broke into his trailer, stealing some belongings.
At about 5:15 a.m. Monday, a man calling from a business on Montana 35 reported that a lock had been cut, and he was concerned that someone might be on the premises.
After a traffic stop on First Avenue East Sunday, Kalispell Police arrested a woman for driving with a suspended license.
Responding to a report of a fight at a hotel on North Main Street, officers ended up arresting a man.
There was a report of two bikes stolen at Woodland Park.
There was a report of “an uncontrollable man” chasing kids in the Woodland Park area, but it turned out that one of those kids was his daughter, who was possibly a runaway.
There was a report of several people sifting through the donation box at Flathead Industries at about 8 p.m. They were advised that the box isn’t for garbage.
Monday, a Woodland Park Drive resident reported that tools, lawn equipment and gas were stolen from a truck.
A person calling from a First Avenue West address reported the theft of a cellphone over the weekend.
