EUREKA — Hitting for his second cycle this week, Kootenai Valley’s Ryan Holder took over a makeup contest against Libby on Tuesday, hitting in five runners while dominating from the mound, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning.

Holder was 4 for 5 from the plate and threw 15 strikeouts on the mound to help lead the Rangers, now 8-6 in conference and 26-19 overall, to a 9-5 conference win. His no-hitter was broken up in the seventh inning on a single by Micah Germany.

“Ryan had a great game, we didn’t have an answer for him offensively or defensively,” Libby coach Kelly Morford said. “Hopefully we can compete a little better tomorrow.”

Bryton Guckenberg also had a big day for the Rangers, hitting two doubles and a massive home run, hitting in two runs while going 3 for 3.

Libby scored four runs in the seventh inning to cut into the lead, before Dalton Smith closed out the game. Luke and Andrew Haggerty and Matt Willis picked up RBIs for the Loggers.

The two teams will meet again today in a doubleheader at Libby.
