Tobacco Valley Arts Council holds art event
The Tobacco Valley Arts Council, the nonprofit organization that owns and operates the Creative Arts Center in Eureka, is hosting “Art in the Park,” an event designed to raise interest and awareness in the arts and raise funds for the Creative Arts Center.
Rained out from the original date of July 14 , the event has been rescheduled to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Memorial Park next to Montana Market in Eureka.
Art in the Park will feature a number of mini classes and “make and take” projects that will appeal to all ages. Some sessions are free, while others will cost from $2 to $20.
Also taking place that day is a sidewalk chalk art contest. Participants sign up for a square of the sidewalk and then create a masterpiece on the cement. Chalk is provided, and prizes will be awarded. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Live music begins at noon. Food and drinks will be available all day. Bring lawn chairs.
