Cops round up wandering toddlers

The Kalispell Police Department dealt with two wandering 3-year-olds Friday.

A 3-year-old girl was found wandering around a parking lot off U.S. 93 South carrying a blanket shortly after 1 a.m. The child was later reunited with her mother.

Another 3-year-old child was found walking unsupervised in the parking lot of Appleway Apartments shortly after 8 a.m. until almost 9 a.m. The child was later reunited with its mother in one of the apartments.

A perceived theft of cows on South Hilltop Road turned out to be a person collecting 10 cows that had escaped from the Blue Moon rodeo.

A North Meridian Road resident reported finding mailboxes from West Wyoming Street lying near the end of a row of garbage cans.

A Sixth Avenue East man reported a woman came into his house wearing her underwear on the outside of her clothes. She claimed the house was hers and was then seen taking things out of a van, and later took a political sign from his yard.

Officers responded to fireworks calls on Fourth Avenue West and Fifth Avenue West.

A drunk woman was reported throwing things at glass at a business on U.S. 93 South.

Diamond earrings and a Black Hills gold bracelet were stolen on Cemetery Road.

A woman keyed a car on Hutton Ranch Road.

A theft was reported on Denver Avenue.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a 96-year-old woman who said she was held against her will after hitting a mailbox on Steven Road. She told police she was forced to spend the night on a piece of cardboard in a garage.

Deputies said her story was vague, she appeared delusional and she didn’t show signs of spending the night outside with the “hordes of mosquitos” currently in the area. She was advised to call at the time of the incident in the future, and a trooper with the Montana Highway Patrol advised her not to drive as she didn’t have a driver’s license.

A landlord reported a renter on Smith Lake Road for possibly growing up to 20 large marijuana plants and numerous seedlings at the house.

A woman reported that a man exposed himself to her and three other women as they were walking into Glacier National Park.

A search for a missing 3-year-old girl on Smith Lake Road was short-lived after the girl was found asleep on their couch under a blanket.

A Collier Lane woman caught her 16-year-old son smoking marijuana, which she confiscated from him.

Someone used a forklift on a Montana 40 West site in Columbia Falls to smash the corner of a building.

Possible drug activity was reported on South Main Street.

Four tires were stolen from a shed on U.S. 93 South in Kalispell.

A pair of bicycles were stolen from the front yard of a South Woodland Drive home.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of lewd conduct in the library.

Someone threw eggs at a house on Crescent Drive.

Officers with the Whitefish Police Department arrested a person during a traffic stop on Baker Avenue.

Possible drug activity was reported.

Officers with the Ronan Police Department found a person in possession of drugs during a traffic stop.

The Polson Police Department received a report of shoplifting at a market.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal mischief on U.S. 93.
