William H. Stock, 70

William H. Stock, 70, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his home in Lakeside.

William was born on Nov. 27, 1941, in South Porcupine, Ontario, Canada to William A. and Evelyn (Rivers) Stock.

When he was 15 years old, the family moved to Downers Grove, Ill., where he graduated from Downers Grove High School. He attended St. Procopius College for one year.

William was a retired United Airlines pilot, where he was a captain of a 747 for almost 32 years.

William married Linda Gruff in 1990 in Maple Valley, Wash. They were married for three days shy of 22 years. He enjoyed flying, golf, reading, crossword puzzles and fishing.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn; and his uncle, Jack and wife Fern Stock.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Michelle and grandson, Casey, and granddaughters, Rashelle, Kayla and Amanda; great-granddaughter, Justice; son, Bill and his daughter, Ashley and her mother Kristen; and two sisters, Carol and Fran.

A celebration of William's life will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 22 on the Far West tour boat out of Lakeside. His ashes will be spread on Flathead Lake.

The family request donations in William's name be given to Home Options Hospice or the Lakeside Montana Food Bank.
