Jean O'Neil, 73

| July 24, 2012 4:27 PM

Jean O'Neil, better known as “Mom’s Jams" of Whitefish, passed away on July 15, 2012, after a short fight with cancer.

She was born in Milner, Colo., on Aug. 8, 1938, the first of four children born to Leona and Gayl Woodyard.

She loved her garden and making jam. She so enjoyed spending time with her Farmers’ Market family. She spent many hours playing gin rummy with her grandchildren, teaching them to recognize their numbers, and how to whistle with a blade of grass. She taught her children and grandchildren the art of making the perfect batch of jam.

Jean is survived by her nine children, Lauree and Allen Bauldwin, Cindy Follmer, Nels and Lisa Haave, Deborah Jess, Clifford Haave, Patty and Arlan Turner, Daniel Haave, Terri and Mike James, and David O'Neil. She is also survived by a brother, Bud Woodyard; and a sister, Barb King. She had 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by many. There will be a celebration of her life in August.
