New cancer clinic opens in Whitefish
Kalispell-based Glacier Oncology recently opened the first cancer clinic in Whitefish.
The new clinic will treat adult cancers of the body and blood.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring world-class medical oncology services to the North Flathead Valley,” said Dr. Michael Goodman, a medical oncologist and founder of Glacier Oncology.
The new clinic also brings Dr. Susan A. Gingrich to Whitefish. She joins Glacier Oncology with more than 20 years of clinical experience treating all forms of cancer.
Board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, Gingrich specializes in a warm, supportive approach to patient care.
Gingrich practices targeted therapy and is currently working to refine a platform that tests tumor sensitivity and provides a patient’s individual molecular profile and biomarker status.
“This is groundbreaking work,” Goodman said. “Every cancer is different, and this research could radically improve treatment effectiveness. We’re excited to offer this option to our patients.”
The new Glacier Oncology clinic is located on the campus of North Valley Hospital, a Planetree affiliate.
“We think Glacier Oncology is a terrific asset to the medical community here in Whitefish,” said Jason Spring, chief executive officer of North Valley Hospital. “Our services and Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care complement those of Glacier Oncology.”
Glacier Oncology patients will have easy access to North Valley Hospital’s imaging, lab and surgical services.
For more information, call Janelle Cano at Glacier Oncology at 406-752-7600. Glacier Oncology Whitefish is located at 2000 Hospital Way and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
