| July 27, 2012 4:52 PM

Lynne Marko, 67, passed away on July 11, 2012, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, after a brief fight with cancer.

A memorial service was held on July 16 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

Lynne was born to Earl and Nell Steady on Sept. 22, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas.

After graduating from Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in art, she spent approximately 20 years working in the retail advertising field as a layout artist and copywriter. Her second career began after age 40, working with her husband in the lodging industry.

She enjoyed travel and worked in six different states, allowing her to see cities as diverse as Key West, Fla., Lewiston, Maine, and Elko, Nev. She enjoyed visiting several of the national parks in the West, with perhaps Arches National Park in Utah as her favorite.

As a young adult, she was able to visit England on a couple occasions. She was proud to have been at Stonehenge, as well as William Shakespeare’s birthplace.

Lynne had lived in Kalispell most of the last 10 years. She came to love Montana and expressed the hope to spend her remaining days here.

Her pastimes were mainly seeing movies, reading, cooking, and keeping up with the news, especially watching Montana Public Television.

Her last employment was as a night desk clerk at the Kalispell Grand Hotel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl; and is survived by her mother Nell Steady, and her husband of 32 years, Kenneth Marko, both of Kalispell; and an aunt, Helen Steady, of Concord, N.H.

Lynne was loved and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
