Art auction on Aug. 3 will benefit Wounded Warriors

The Glacier Gala, an art auction and benefit for Wounded Warriors, will be held Aug. 3 at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish.

The main auction will feature 100 original pieces of art from across Montana. It will be hosted by full-dress uniform military officers and auctioneer Lynn Kenyon-Lawe of Great Falls.

A cash bar and souvenir booth from the “Buck Up For Wounded Warriors” program will be available.

There will be a silent auction during an intermission from 7 to 8 p.m. before the main auction resumes. Whitefish artist Colt Idol will paint a quick-draw piece during the silent auction.

Some of the featured artists include Linda Trippetts, Tom Sander,  C.M. Russell, Steve Seltzer, Nicholas Coleman, Gary Schildt and Mark Ogle.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. with the main event starting at 6 p.m.

There will be a $25 admission fee, which includes a bidder number and catered hors d’oeuvres from Grouse Mountain.

Tickets are available at the Don “K” dealership on U.S. 93 in Whitefish and at the Ogle/Abbrescia studios at 236 Second Ave. W. in Kalispell.
