Rollover occurs near courthouse
Officers with the Kalispell Police Department arrested a motorist for driving under the influence early Saturday morning after he or she rolled a vehicle near the intersection of Main Street and Eighth Street, trapping the driver and three other passengers. The driver was transported to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a blood draw before being taken to the Flathead County Detention Center.
In another accident, two people were transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center after officers and EMTs responded to a rear-end collision involving three vehicles on Grandview Drive. One man involved in the accident was bleeding from his head after he struck the windshield during the collision.
Officers arrested a motorist for driving under the influence during a traffic stop on Shady Glen Drive, and also arrested his two passengers on county and city warrants.
A suspicious vehicle was reported on a Corporate Drive property. The person who called in about the vehicle said it looked like both doors had been ripped off and it had been hot-wired. It also appeared the vehicle had been crashed in the bushes.
A man reported there has been a history of people trying to break into his East Idaho Street building, and that now someone had broken windshields of several vehicles on the site. A jack was also left underneath one of the cars where the person had tried to steal the tires. The man said the jack was “quite expensive.”
Someone driving a business vehicle stopped on U.S. 93 South, pulled out a baseball bat and smashed the back window of a truck from another business.
A person on U.S. 93 North was told to stop panhandling in Kalispell and was advised to move along.
Several youths were reported throwing eggs on Fifth Avenue West.
The Columbia Falls Police Department received a request for officers to respond to a fast food restaurant on Ninth Street West where an employee said he was going to be attacked by 15 people after having been threatened. The man found a ride and a place to stay for the night.
Someone backed into and smashed a mailbox on Railroad Street.
A youth was apprehended while attempting to shoplift from a store on Ninth Street West, and was later released to a guardian.
Someone tipped over a Pepsi machine on Ninth Street West.
A fight was reported behind a bar on Nucleus Avenue.
The Whitefish Police Department received reports of intoxicated pedestrians on East Third Street and Central Avenue.
A fight was reported on Lupfer Avenue.
A theft was reported on Central Avenue.
