Columbia Falls adds five to hall of fame

COLUMBIA FALLS — Five members of the Columbia Falls High School Class of 2012 were recently inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame.

They are Jinise Osborne, Derrick Williams, Parker Johnson, Austin Barth and Dan Jones.

Jinise Osborne is the daughter of Denise and Steve Osborne.

She is the 2012 co-Tom Dumay Award winner.

Osborne was a three-time all conference cross country runner and two-time all-state runner. She’s the school’s all-time record holder and has the junior and senior class records. In track, she is a four-time all-conference honoree in the 3,200 run and was Northwestern A divisional champion this spring. She was all-conference three years in the 1,600 and was all-state in both 3,200 and 1,600 this spring.

She’s also a 10-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All State recipient.

Austin Barth

Austin Barth is the son of Susie and Doug Barth.

Barth’s accomplishments include 10 total varsity letters during his high school career.

He was named all-state linebacker twice for the Wildcat football team, and twice second team all-conference quarterback.

He was the 2011 team MVP, won the Sapa Award in 2011 and was selected to the 2012 East-West Shrine Game.

He was named all-conference in track in 2010 and 2011.

His basketball honors include two all-state selections and two state tournament team selections. He was first team all-conference three times and conference MVP in 2012. He was a member of Columbia Falls 2011 state championship team.

Parker Johnson

Parker Johnson is the son of Mary and Kyle Johnson.

Johnson is a 10-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State winner.

A 2012 basketball team captain, his honors in that sport include all-state and first team all-conference in 2012. He was named to the state tournament team in 2012. He also received the Playmaker Award for 2011 and 2012 as well as the Senior Wildcat Award in 2012.

He was all-conference in tennis three times and all-state once. He was the team MVP this spring.

He was a two-sport athlete last fall, playing both football and golf.

In football, he was an all-conference second team wide receiver and strong safety in 2011. He was a three-time all-conference selection in golf and was all-state last fall.

Dan Jones

Dan Jones is the son of Doug and Lori Jones.

A four-year letter winner, Jones won three state championships for the Wildcat track team.

He won both the javelin and shot put this spring and was a member of the winning 1,600 meter relay team in 2011. He was also a member of the Wildcat 2011 state championship team.

He was all-conference in discus four times and divisional champion three times. In shot, he was all conference three times and was all-conference and divisional champion in javelin once.

He holds the school and divisional record in javelin (202 feet, six inches). He won three letters as a member of the Columbia Falls football team and was a three-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State recipient.

Derrick Williams

Derrick Williams is the son of Maura and Ray Williams.

He is a seven-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State recipient and is the 2012 co-Tom Dumay Award winner.

Williams has won six track state championships (800 twice, 1,600 twice, 3,200 once and was a member of the 1,600 relay team). He’s been state runner-up three times.

He holds the school record in both the 3,200 99:38.42) and the 1,600 (4:18.63).

In cross country, he was the state champion last fall and was runner-up as a junior. He won the conference championship both years.

He was team MVP twice and was also a member of the Columbia Falls 2010 state championship team.
