Lakers A down Missoula in twinbill
The Kalispell Lakers A registered 21 hits over the course of a doubleheader on Sunday, taking two American Legion baseball games from the visiting Missoula Mavericks A team.
Scores were 11-5 and 12-11.
Dalton Meredith was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the first game and Jonathan Center was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the second game.
Luke LaFontaine got the win the first game. He came in in the second inning and threw a two-hitter.
Lakers A coach Tim Severson also commented on the pitching of Justin Wallace.
Wallace had a rough go as the starter in the first game, but got the save in the second.
“He came in with runners on second and third and didn’t allow a run. I’m really pleased with him. He showed a lot of composure in mowing them down,” Severson said.
The Lakers (3-2) travel to Libby for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
