After being turned back by foul weather on Wednesday, Glacier National Park plow crews returned to Logan Pass Thursday to continue working on the Big Drift and clearing snow from the visitor center parking lot.

Wednesday’s storm buried Going-to-the-Sun Road under 9 inches of new snow in the Logan Pass area, requiring crews to plow their way back to the pass.

Crews also did cleanup work between the Loop and Haystack Creek, and at lower elevations east of Logan Pass.

Hikers and bikers on the west side of the park can travel about 10 miles beyond the vehicle gate at Avalanche Creek to the Bird Woman Falls overlook.

On the east side, hikers and bikers can travel about two miles beyond the vehicle gate at Jackson Glacier Overlook to the Siyeh Bend area from Tuesday through Thursday.

There are no restrictions from Friday through Monday because of curtailed road construction activity.
