Stuck cat prompts call to police

Sunday afternoon, a Short Pine Drive resident called the Kalispell Police Department for help with a cat that got stuck behind a water heater.

The caller said they didn’t know who else to call to get the cat out and told police there was hardly enough space to get a ruler in the spot where the cat was stuck. A neighbor came over to help.

A window pane was broken at a bus stop on North Meridian Road.

Earlier Sunday, someone reported an “idiot driver” doing 75 mph and passing on double yellow on the bypass.

A man did not pay for a hotel room, as promised, and reportedly left a woman behind to deal with it.

Someone broke into a storage container on Second Street West.

Graffiti was reported at a hotel on U.S. 2.

Early Sunday morning, a 21-year-old man was seizing at a bar on Airport Road after someone hit him on the head with a glass.

A man was reportedly going in and out of consciousness and bleeding from the ears after a fight at a bar on Airport Road.

Saturday night, a vehicle was broken into on Hutton Ranch Road.

A concerned woman on Second Avenue East told police she got a text message from an unknown party that said, “Hid the body.”

Earlier Saturday, a bag found in a mall parking lot was returned to its owner.

A woman was propositioning people at a motel on East Idaho Street, offering “a girlfriend experience” for $250.

On patrol Saturday night, a Columbia Falls Police Department officer found a boat motor in the roadway on Nucleus Avenue.

A woman complained that an officer put her and her 9-month-old child in danger by not stopping at a stop sign and not using his turn signal.

Early Sunday, someone was reportedly throwing rocks from a saloon.

Saturday morning, Whitefish Police Department officers investigated a theft reported on Central Avenue.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested someone for possession of dangerous drugs at a motel early Saturday morning.
