Another guitarist joins concert lineup

| June 13, 2012 9:45 PM

One more guitarist has joined the lineup at the Summer Guitar Celebration.

David Browne-Murray, the 2011 winner of the Six String Theory Competition world finals, will join Jody Fisher, Doug Smith, Bill Mize and Beth Bramhall at the June 22 concert. The show launches events surrounding the 2012 Crown of the Continent Guitar Workshop and Festival.

Browne-Murray, of Belfast, Ireland, won out over a juried pool of phenomenal guitarists who came from around the globe to participate in the Six String Theory Competition that was held at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts in August 2011. The competition is the brain child of jazz legend Lee Ritenour and is co-sponsored by  Yamaha Instrument Co.

The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the picnic concert that begins at 7 p.m. at the Saddlehorn Trapper Cabins in Bigfork. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and food. No alcohol may be brought in.

The concert will be held rain or shine; in case of inclement weather, the event will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork.

A $10 donation per person is suggested to support the cost of the evening and the Crown of the Continent Guitar Foundation’s programs.
