Josephine Rose “Babe” Dusterhoff, 90, passed away on June 8, 2012, of natural causes, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

She was born on March 20, 1922, in Northgate, N.D., to Charles and Anna (Fangstrom) Guerdette; she was the fourth of six children.

On March 25, 1943, she married Waldo “Bud” Dusterhoff. They moved to Hungry Horse in 1948 and lived in Flathead Valley until their deaths.

Babe loved to cook, play cards, knit, put together jigsaw puzzles, crochet, dance, snowmobile, listen to old time music and go out to eat. She was always up for a good joke and never lost her wit until the end. She never ran across a recipe or recipe book that she didn’t want to put into her collection.

She is survived by her brother, Fred Guerdette, and his wife, Joan; brother-in-law, Raymond Shears; son, Dusty Dusterhoff; grandson, Jay Dusterhoff, and his mother, Sandy; and granddaughter, Alayna Sandefer, her mother Laurie, her husband Jess, and children, Chase Schulte and Cody Sandefer; along with many nieces and nephews and people who loved her as “Grandma Babe.”

She was preceded in death by daughters, Dawn Marie and JoAnn; her husband, Bud; brother, Charles Guerdette; sisters, Waunell Shears, Mary Green and Louise Hall; grandson, Russell Schulte; and great-grandson, Cole Sandefer.

In accordance with Babe’s request there will not be a funeral, only graveside services, to be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Columbia Mortuary.
