The Kalispell Police Department has announced that registered Tier 3 sex offender Geoffrey Friant has moved out of the state due to health issues.

Normally, the department does not issue a notice when offenders move out of the area, but chose to issue one in Friant’s case because of how recently his arrival had been announced.

“Due to the extremely short period of time since our release of information on the registered offender we are issuing a press release to notify media that the offender checked out of our jurisdiction today,” the Tuesday press release stated.

In addition to the announcement of Friant’s departure, the department also issued two corrections.

The first indicated that Friant was convicted in Michigan, not Missouri. The second pointed out that his convictions were for attempted first degree sexual assault and attempted second-degree sexual assault.
