Bill Koppy, 78
Bill Koppy, 78, passed away June 6, 2012, at 5:38 p.m., at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.
He was born June 25, 1933, in Lake City S.D., to Joseph and Louis (Janisch) Koppy.
Bill worked on many farms around their home in Mahnomen Minn. He then joined the Air Force, serving from 1953 to 1957. He worked in the lumber industry from 1963 to 1991, mostly in the Flathead Valley.
Bill lived in the Happy’s Inn park until 2006 when he went into the VA Home in Columbia Falls.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He later enjoyed latch hooking as a hobby and won a blue ribbon in the Northwest Montana Fair.
He is survived by his brothers, Val, John, David, Bud and Tim; and sisters, Barb, Pat and Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beverly, Sal and Lois; and brother, Gene.
There will be a memorial for him from 3 to 6 p.m. June 24 at the Kalispell VFW, in the back room.
