Child turns up safe after going AWOL

Deputies with the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Maple Drive in Evergreen after it was reported that a 4-year-old boy had been missing for nearly an hour. The child had been playing outside with another child before disappearing. He was eventually located and returned to his home.

An animal warden responded to North Valley Hospital after it was reported that a man was bit in the face by a pit bull. The dog was surrendered and taken to the animal shelter.

A Trumble Creek Road resident in Columbia Falls called to complain about three or four youths riding four-wheelers and one three-wheeler who were spinning out on fresh gravel, “ruining it.” They were advised not to drive recklessly on unpaved roads and one agreed to go back, rake the gravel and fill in the ruts they had created.

A woman was arrested and booked into the Flathead County Detention Center after she showed up in the front lobby of the sheriff’s office and began yelling and cursing at staff, refusing to calm down when addressed.

A clerk at a store on Montana 35 in Bigfork contacted the sheriff’s office after he refused to sell tobacco to a man buying it for someone else. The man threatened the clerk before leaving.

A pregnant woman was bit in the leg by a dog on Gladys Glen Road in Coram.

A Jade Lane resident reported his or her mother’s ring, another ring and $1,000 in cash were stolen from the home.

A theft was reported on Mountain Drive in Hungry Horse.

The Kalispell Police Department received two reports of suspicious people looking into vehicles. Three youths with flashlights were seen looking into cars on Fourth Avenue East, and a man was seen hiding in the bushes in an alley near Third Avenue West and also walking around cars looking into them.

A Fifth Avenue East resident reported hearing a loud explosion, believing it came from or around an electrical substation. No cause of the noise was ever discovered.

A teenage boy was seen on the roof of Woodland Water Park.

A girl turned herself in for stealing an iPad from a locker at her middle school.

A man was arrested after he returned to a business on Seventh Avenue West where he had stolen items in the past.

A license plate was stolen off a motorcycle on U.S. 93 North.

A handicap permit was stolen from a vehicle on Third Avenue East.

A pair of men walked out of a business on East Idaho Street without paying for food.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of two people shining laser lights into vehicles on Talbot Road.

A red 2005 Honda motorcycle was stolen on Third Avenue West.

The Polson Police Department investigated an assault on Main Street.

The Ronan Police Department received a report of theft from a vehicle at St. Luke’s Hospital.
