Donald L. Ronish, 55

| June 24, 2012 8:03 PM

Donald L. Ronish, 55, of Columbia Falls, passed away June 21, 2012, at North Valley Hospital.

He was born Nov. 23, 1956, to Donald and Bette Ronish in Lewistown, the fifth of seven children.

He didn't fully appreciate the piano lessons his mom strongly encouraged for all of the children until he began playing in bands. He cherished the many memories and friendships he made while playing in bands in high school and later to pay his way through school in Billings. Don developed his extensive talents and love of music and was proud to pass that appreciation on to his children.

Don moved to Columbia Falls in 2004 to work at Shirno Cabinets with his dear friends Ole and Shirley Netteberg. His experience as a journeyman cabinetmaker and CAD operator earned him a reputation as an excellent craftsman with incredible attention to detail. He continued to work in cabinet shops and as a self-employed CAD operator in the area. He also continued to enjoy playing music at New Covenant Fellowship in Kalispell.

Don was an honest and forthright man who had opinions he loved to share. He will be missed for his dry sense of humor, his honesty and his unwavering commitment to salvation through Jesus Christ.

His children were his absolute pride and joy. He took pride in their achievements and watching them in their many activities and sharing his interests with them. They are blessed to have inherited his convictions and his many artistic and musical talents.

Don is survived by his four children: Jacob, Hanna, Zachary and Nicholas, all from Columbia Falls; his father, Donald E. Ronish of Lewistown; his brothers and sister, Rick and Mary Ronish of Las Vegas. Ron Ronish of Helena, Daryl and Sharaan Ronish of Milfay Okla., Deb and Jim Stogsdill of Lewistown, Robert and Hyon Ronish of Oklahoma City, and Dean and Kelli Ronish of Aurora, Colo.; along with many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bette Lorenz Ronish.

Services are being held at Columbia Mortuary on Wednesday, June 27 at 3 p.m.
