Iverson 3rd, Doorn 5th in sectional golf play

BILLINGS — Tom Swanson of Missoula qualified for the 65th U.S. Junior Amateur golf tournament on Monday with his four-shot victory at the U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifier at the Laurel Golf Club.

Swanson’s 36-hole total was a 4-under-par 140 (69-71).

Matt Williams of Calgary, Alberta, 70-74—144 was second and Logan Iverson of Kalispell, 80-76—156, placed third.

Arthur Doorn of Whitefish was fifth, 88-82—170.

Ryan Keenan of Bigfork withdrew.

The U.S. Junior Amateur will take place July 16-21 at the Golf Club of New England in Stratham, N.H.
