Authorities on Monday released the names of two Kalispell residents who died this weekend in separate accidents.

Brenda Reiner, 57, of Kalispell, drowned Sunday on the Flathead River after an inflatable raft containing her and her husband overturned just north of the Presentine Bar fishing access, Sheriff Chuck Curry said.

Her husband made it to shore and called for help. He did not require medical treatment.

Reiner was caught by a tree protruding from an island at the water’s surface, commonly called a “strainer,” where she was held underwater and drowned.

Both were wearing life jackets.

Dylan Gerald Hudson, 20, of Kalispell, died Saturday after he was involved in a one-vehicle rollover on East Edgewood Drive in Whitefish.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Hudson was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle in a turn and slid off the road. The vehicle rolled twice before coming to rest on its wheels.

Hudson was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to North Valley Hospital for treatment, but died from injuries he sustained in the crash.
