Barbara Ann Benzien, 67

Barbara Ann Benzien, 67, of Columbia Falls, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, in Columbia Falls.

She was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Kalispell, the daughter of John and Louise (Gaffney) Schutt.

Barbara worked in many areas of the customer service industry until she found herself managing a convenience store for 24 years, which became Mike’s Conoco, 19 years ago. She developed many wonderful friendships with her customers, vendors, employees and those she worked for. She was well respected and loved in the community.

Shopping was Barb’s hobby, but rummage sales were her passion. She also thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, especially with her cousins, aunts and uncles.

Barbara is survived by her children, Kristy Stevenson, Robby Stevenson and Marvin Stevenson of Columbia Falls, and Donald Stevenson of Florida. She is also survived by her brothers, Rick Berg and John Schutt Jr.; and her many beloved cousins. Her grandchildren include Kenneth, Jaymie, Brittany, Kirk and Naomi.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, at Marantette Park in Columbia Falls. Food and drink will be provided.
