The Mission Valley Mariners picked up a conference sweep on Tuesday, shutting out the Bitterroot Red Sox twice.

The Mariners were led by pitchers Nick Crawford and Justin Evertz, who each pitched complete games while holding the Red Sox scoreless. Crawford gave up just five hits in an opening 7-0 win and Evertz led the Mariners to a 3-0 win in the nightcap.

The Mariners (29-4) will host the Firecracker tournament in Polson beginning on Thursday.

The Glacier Twins A nearly completed the comeback of the season but fell short, losing both games of a doubleheader in Missoula on Tuesday.

After losing the first game 13-3, the Twins fell down 9-1 after the first two innings of the nightcap. Glacier rallied, scoring one run each in the next three innings and piling on with three runs in the top of the seventh. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the gap, losing 9-7.

The Twins will be headed down to the Firecracker tournament in Polson this weekend.
