Beulah Caroline Martinson, 94
Beulah Caroline Martinson, 94, “passed on to be with the Lord” on June 25, 2012.
Beulah was born Nov. 24, 1917, on her family farm outside of Bucyrus, N.D., to Peter and Anna Paulson. She grew up with her three brothers, Edwin, Fred, and Floyd.
She met and married Johnny Martinson who was just home from World War II in Bismarck, N.D. Beulah and Johnny raised their two children Judy and Jim in Riverdale, N.D., where Beulah worked at Riverdale Grade and High School and Johnny worked for the Corps of Engineers at the Garrison Reservoir. The family spent countless hours with friends and family skiing and boating on the reservoir.
Beulah and Johnny lived in Coleharbor, N.D., and then in Prescott Valley, Ariz., after retiring. They then moved to Las Vegas to be closer to friends. Beulah and Johnny moved to Whitefish in 1993 to help raise their granddaughter, Kaley, and be near their two grandsons, Cody and Matt.
Beulah enjoyed and loved being with her grandchildren and watching every sport they played including soccer, basketball, baseball and football. She loved taking her granddaughter to Disneyland and outlasted both the 4 year old and the mother! Beulah was indispensable at taking her granddaughter to all her horse riding practices and wouldn't miss a rodeo. She never stopped giving, loving and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her last years were spent at The Springs where she was loved and cared for by a wonderful staff of care givers. Beulah truly blessed us all.
Beulah is survived by her son, Jim Martinson, and wife, Jayne, and their children, Matt and Cody, and Cody’s wife, Karie. Beulah is also survived by her daughter, Judy Martinson, and her daughter, Kaley.
A family celebration of Beulah’s life was held June 27, per her family's wishes.
Arrangements are entrusted to Austin Funeral Home. You are invited to go to www.austinfh.com to offer condolences, share memories and view Beulah’s tribute wall.
