Witness worried about pedestrian's safety

The Kalispell Police Department received a report from a concerned citizen who saw a taxi fail to yield at the intersection of Sixth Street East and South Main Street, where a 75-year-old woman was crossing at a crosswalk. They said when they called the taxi company, the owner argued with them. Both the owner and the caller were counseled.

An evicted resident of a North Meridian Road apartment complex reported she returned to her apartment to collect her belongings and everything had been vandalized, including tagging all over the apartment on the doors, walls and cupboards as well as her belongings. The cupboards were also broken.

Two boys were seen walking around an apartment complex on North Meridian Road looking into vehicle windows. They ran away when someone asked them what they were doing.

A syringe reportedly full of heroin was left in the makeup department of a store on Hutton Ranch Road by a woman who may have realized she was being watched. The incident was captured on video.

A 19-year-old girl under house arrest was reported to police by her mother for smoking marijuana. She left her house on foot before officers arrived, but they located her shortly thereafter, arrested her and transported her to the Flathead County Detention Center.

The former resident of a home on Kara Drive reported people at that location were dealing drugs and had used her credit card to purchase $2,000 worth of items.

A resident of Second Avenue East North reported possible drug activity in her neighborhood.

A tip jar was stolen from a business on West Idaho Street. The incident was captured on video.

A group of children were reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office twice Monday evening after shooting BB guns at people and vehicles. The first report came from a mother who said they had shot at her children while they were riding their bicycles home, hitting one of them. About an hour later, a woman reported they had shot at her husband’s vehicle as he drove to work. A young boy and his parents were counseled.

A driver and their passengers were lucky to walk away unharmed when the vehicle was hit by another vehicle and overcorrected, running off the road and into a fence on Montana 40 West in Columbia Falls. A fence post was jammed through the window and blocked the passengers inside.

Tires were reported stolen from a shed on Cemetery Road in Kalispell.

Officers with the Whitefish Police Department arrested a motorist during a traffic stop on West Second Street.

An assault was reported on Central Avenue.

Criminal mischief was reported on Baker Avenue, East Second Street and East First Street.
