A 29-year-old Kalispell man is in jail after allegedly pulling a gun on two people outside Paddy’s Touchdown Lounge late Thursday night.

A few minutes before midnight, officers responded to a report of assault with a weapon at the bar and met with two men, according to the Kalispell Police Department.

The pair said they were talking in the parking lot when they were approached by Andrew Dixon Peterson, who got into an argument with them.

When they asked him to leave, he allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at them.

One of the men tackled Peterson, allowing the other man to grab the gun and other items that Peterson dropped. The men then fled inside and called 911.

Peterson later called 911 and reported the two men punched him in the face and kicked him in the jaw and back while he was showing them his gun, then took it from him and pointed it at him. He was believed to be very drunk.

The gun, which did not belong to Peterson, was found to be loaded.

He was arrested and transported to the police department by Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies.

Following an interview, he was preliminarily charged with assault with a weapon and transported to the Flathead County Detention Center.
