Juvenile girls found in trunk during traffic stop

Saturday night, two juvenile girls were returned to their parents after Kalispell Police Department officers found them in the trunk of a car during a traffic stop near an all-ages dance club.

An officer saw a young man suspiciously close his trunk as he approached. The officer asked what was in the trunk and found the girls inside. One of the girls had been reported as a runaway. Neither of the girls were abducted or held against her will and no arrests were made, police said.

Earlier, a woman on Fifth Avenue East wanted to know how to get her soon-to-be ex-boyfriend removed or evicted from the apartment.

A caller on Third Avenue East North was concerned about a biker who was angry about gas prices.

A woman on College Avenue reported finding a tent and clothing on city property behind her house.

A woman on Ninth Street West was concerned about a man watching her at her house. She told police the man had slowly driven by several times and that she had problems with him in 2010.

Later Saturday night, a sparkler bomb was set off in a mailbox on Sherry Lane.

An orange, Charger-style vehicle was reportedly racing up and down Main Street making lots of noise.

Early Sunday morning, a woman told police she was sexually assaulted by a man on Denver Street. She said she was passed out drunk at his house when it happened, months ago, possibly in February.

A woman on East Idaho Street said she was getting calls from two men kicked out of a casino. One of the men told her he was going to get her fired.

Saturday morning, a caller on Nucleus Avenue asked the Columbia Falls Police Department for extra patrols because of someone in a red pickup siphoning gas from vehicles.

A caller on First Avenue East reported someone driving on the lawn.

Saturday night, a caller on East Second Street told police a man who lives in the area keeps spinning doughnuts at the intersection in his Ford Mustang.

Police made an arrest after a pursuit that started on Ninth Street West and ended on 13th Street West at the Karen Road intersection.

Someone on Second Avenue East North reported hearing shots fired. Other callers reported a loud explosion. Officers visited with men with a large balloon on Second Avenue West and were told someone in the area has a cannon they may have fired.

Early Sunday morning, three kids bailed out of a vehicle during a traffic stop. All were caught. According to police, they were coming from a known party house.

Someone reported a vicious animal on East Second Street to the Whitefish Police Department Saturday morning.

Harassment was reported on O’Brien Avenue.

Saturday night, officers were called to a fight on East Third Street.

Early Sunday, police investigated a report of an intoxicated driver on Central Avenue.

Someone reported a trespass on Spokane Avenue.

A grass fire was reported on Lower Valley Road in south Kalispell at 2:45 p.m. Sunday and reported as contained at 3:20 p.m.
