Whitefish Theatre Co. holds year-end showcase

| May 3, 2012 2:59 PM

Whitefish Theatre Co. presents J.A.M.S. (Junior Actors and Musicians on Stage) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 11 at the O’Shaughnessy Center.

This is a theater education showcase for children and teens who have participated in season theater classes and productions. The performance is open to the public and promises to be a fun-filled evening of treasured songs of the theater by area youths and theatrical skits by the Whitefish Theatre Co.’s performance troupe.

April Dawn Vogel, Whitefish Theatre Co.’s education director, is facilitating this completely child-run performance, including the music, acting and stage lighting.

“Seeing the voices of the young actors unfold is one of the greatest joys a teacher, a parent or a community member can experience,” Vogel said. “Please come to Whitefish Theatre Co., the front porch of Whitefish, on May 11th to delight in these wonderful children and the creativity and fine musicianship they have to share with their community.”

Cost for the performance is by donation only, with a suggested donation of $5 at the door. This is a general seating performance and is appropriate for all ages.

For those interested in participating in other youth theater opportunities, registration is open for children in kindergarten through eighth grade for June theater and musical theater summer camps. Register by June 1 for a discount.
