Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s office arrested a 21-year-old Ronan man after he led them on a chase on a stolen all-terrain vehicle early Friday morning.

According to a news release from Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin, deputies and tribal police responded to a report of a stolen ATV on Carbine Road at 2:16 a.m. Law officers quickly located Leroy Black III, who led them on a 15-minute chase at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

Black crashed the ATV in a field off Moeise Valley Road near Round Butte Road and was apprehended with the use of a Taser. He was then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.

Black has been preliminarily charged with theft, driving under the influence and eluding police, as well as other charges stemming from the incident. He is being held at the Lake County Jail without bond until his arraignment.

The Ronan Police Department and Ronan Ambulance also responded.
