The Scholars Program at Flathead Valley Community College is accepting applications for its fourth class that will begin this fall.

Launched in 2009, the program provides rigorous cross-disciplinary honors studies for academically capable and motivated students.

According to Director Ivan Lorentzen, the program seeks to stimulate highly able and motivated students as they experience academic inquiry and discovery within a supportive learning community.

Seminar-style four-credit classes provide a more extensive perspective from two or more disciplines.

Each participant in the Scholars Program receives a full-tuition scholarship, a renewable stipend and a faculty mentor.

Scholar students will have access to a study area, classroom and library. Program graduates will receive special designations on their college transcripts and medallions at commencement.

Students from this program may make a seamless transition to either the Davidson Honors College at The University of Montana or the University Honors Program at Montana State University.

The program also assists students in successfully transferring to honors programs at four-year colleges and universities across the nation.
