Sherry Hurd Trippel Stein, 64

Sherry Hurd Trippel Stein passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Kalispell. Sherry died due to inoperable brain cancer.  

She was born in Thermopolis, Wyo., on June 30, 1947, to mother Lena Della “Pauline” Leach, and father Oliver Cromwell Hurd.

Sherry is survived by brothers, Gary Gene Hurd and Ronald Dean Hurd;  first husband, Kenneth Gene Trippel; and current husband Franklin Julius Stein; son, Kraig Leon Trippel, wife Jennifer, and kids Abbey and Jack; son, Bret Allen Trippel, wife Shannon, and kids Makayla and Brady; and son, Bart Jason Trippel, wife Wendy, and kids Brooklynn and Brianna.

Sherry grew up in Wellington, Colo. She was part of the first graduating class from Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colo., in 1965. 

She enjoyed reading, social activities and yard work. 

She worked for Poudre School District in Fort Collins for 20 years. After retiring in 2003, she moved to Kalispell to work for Cutting Edge Excavation, her oldest son’s excavation company.  

The family will have a private inurnment this summer.
