Audition for 'God of Carnage'

| May 30, 2012 8:00 PM

Whitefish Theatre Co. holds auditions for its fall 2012 production of “God of Carnage” at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Auditions will take place in the green room at the O’Shaughnessy Center, 1 Central Ave., Whitefish. Actors should use the actors’ entrance on the north corner of the building.

Artistic Director Jesse DeVine will be directing the show. The cast will be made up of two women and two men in their 30s, 40s or 50s.

Perusal scripts are available at local libraries.

“God of Carnage” is Yasmina Rez’s Tony Award-winning comedy about grown-ups behaving badly. Two highly strung Brooklyn couples meet for a civil discussion about a playground fight between their 11-year-old sons. As the discussion progresses, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, in a laugh-out-loud trainwreck of an afternoon among savages.

The play recently was made into the movie “Carnage” with Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet. DeVine says that “the play better accents the humor, while the movie hyper-zooms in on the anger.”

Performance dates are Sept. 27-30 and Oct. 5-7.
