Several Kalispell students have been named winners in the Crail/Carr Poetry Awards.

The awards are for distinctive poetry written by students in Kalispell high schools. Recipients receive a booklet of all the winning poems, a poetry anthology and a cash award.

First place went to Jenna McGuire of Flathead High School; second place, Forrest Schutt of Flathead; and third place to Courtney Boneski and Reid Clark, both of Flathead High.

Ashley Bennett of Laser and Glacier High School, and Flathead High students Bailey Clark and Mariah Morris shared fourth-place honors.

The awards are named for Ted Crail and Della Ve Carr and their contributions to writing at Flathead High.
