Tickets are on sale now for Festival Amadeus.

The festival, which Glacier Symphony and Chorale calls Montana’s only weeklong classical music event, runs July 22-28. The event was included in a recent New York Times article, in the paper’s annual “Summer Stages” section, which showcases music, art and theater events across the nation. Festival Amadeus was the only Montana summer event included in the calendar.

Violinist Tim Pain and pianist Alon Goldstein, both of whom perform regularly in New York City and who are on tap to play at Festival Amadeus, were mentioned in the article.

The festival kicks off July 22 with a free open-air concert in Whitefish’s Depot Park. A silent auction and wine tasting and several more performances take place on subsequent nights.

“Virtuoso Violins,” the auction and wine tasting, takes place July 23 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. The evening will feature bidding on 12 original works from prominent Montana artists and tasting from “Mozart’s Cellar,” featuring select wines from Austria and Italy.

July 24 is the first chamber orchestra night, “Magnificent Duo.” The second chamber orchestra performance, “Cello Piano Fantasy,” will take place July 25. “Serenade for Soloists,” featuring Fain on violin and viola player Paul Coletti with the Festival Amadeus Strings, is July 26.

“Haydn and Mozart and Shostakovich” is the title of the July 27 performance. It will feature the Festival Amadeus Orchestra and guest cellist Amit Peled. Goldstein, the pianist, will be highlighted in the “Festival Concerto Finale” July 28.

Full passes and the popular “Pick-4” pass are available for purchase, as are tickets to single performances. For more information, visit www.gscmusic.org or call 257-3241.
