3 bears make themselves at home

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a large, furry problem on Browns Gulch Road, where a resident reported that a mother and two baby grizzly bears were trying to get into her garage before getting into her chicken coop and eating the chickens. The woman said there were no guns at the home, as her husband had taken them for the day.

A resilient thief was chased off by a U.S. 93 South resident in Somers after the resident caught the thief stealing car parts from the home. The thief later returned and stole another item. The resident told police the thief could be a co-worker trying to cause trouble.

A vigilant citizen put his observation skills to use when he reported a neighbor on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell was selling drugs. The man said he has seen people with bags of marijuana at the residence and that he had kept a list of license plates on vehicles that visited the property.

The smoke turned out to be the result of a malfunctioning furnace. The Kalispell Fire Department also responded to the call.

A clueless trespasser was arrested after a night employee at a U.S. 93 South business reported he had just watched the man break into a room on the building’s closed circuit camera system. The man was still in the room when police arrived.
