Pairings set for state volleyball tournament

Second-ranked Flathead and fourth-ranked Glacier are in the same bracket for the Class AA state volleyball tournament, which begins Thursday in Bozeman.

Flathead (18-4) will open up against Billings West (18-10) in a 2 p.m. match.

Glacier (18-6) follows versus fifth-ranked Bozeman (19-6) at 4 p.m.

Top seed Billings Senior (28-0) kicks things off with a 10 a.m. contest with Helena Capital (9-13).

The other-first round match has Billings Skyview (20-9) facing third-ranked Helena (17-8) at noon.

In the Class A state pairings, Columbia Falls will tangle with Corvallis at 2 p.m. Columbia Falls is the No. 2 seed from Northwestern A, while Corvallis is the top seed from Southwestern A.

First-round winners play again Thursday at 6 and 8 p.m. First-round losers are off until Friday at 10 a.m. and noon. The tourney ends Saturday.
