Audition for 'A Christmas Carol'

| November 14, 2012 5:30 PM

Calling all actors, young or old: Don’t be a Scrooge — or maybe you’d like to be one.

The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre invites students in grades three through 12 and adults of any age to audition for its fourth annual production of “A Christmas Carol.”

Even those who don’t want a big part but want to be in the show are invited to try out. The theater group needs all kinds of actors for this Christmas classic.

Auditions will be held Tuesday at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre After-school Arts Center, located at 833 Grand Ave.

Tryouts are from 4 to 5 p.m. for grades three and four, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for grades five to seven, and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for grades eight through adult.

This production calls for a medium-sized cast.

It costs nothing to audition. There is a $40 fee to participate in the production if cast in the show.

Those interested in trying out should prepare a 30 second monologue or selection from another play or book, and plan to learn and sing something at the audition. For those who don’t have experience or can’t find something to prepare, the theater group will have materials available at the center.

Tentative rehearsal schedules will be announced at the auditions. Performance dates are Dec. 14 through 16, and Dec. 21 and 22.

Those not interested in stage work but who would like to be involved should contact the theater group; technical assistance will be needed for the production.
