Free admission to the Hockaday

| November 14, 2012 6:00 PM

The Hockaday Museum of Art expresses its thanks to the community for their continued support by opening its doors with free admission Nov. 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Visitors are welcome to view the current exhibitions, which include the 2012 Members Salon featuring more than 120 participating artist members showing recent work. Many media types and styles are represented in the popular annual exhibit with many pieces available for sale. Visitors are encouraged to cast a vote for their favorite work in the annual People’s Choice Awards.

“Montana Landscape through the Seasons” spotlights the tonalist painting effects of Russell Chatham, and the Crown of the Continent permanent exhibition focuses on the art and artists of Glacier National Park.

For holiday shoppers, there are unique gift ideas by 20 juried Montana artists in the museum’s gift shop.

Champagne tasting will be sponsored by Intermountain Distributing. Complimentary gift bags will be available while supplies last, and a free docent-led gallery tour will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

The museum is located at 302 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. For more information, visit www.hockadaymuseum.org or call 755-5268.
