Poaching activity reported in two locales

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office had two reports of attempted poaching. An Ashley Lake Road resident said someone was poaching on his road with a floodlight on the roof of the car. He said the motorist would drive up the road slowly, shine the light into the field, then continue to the end of pavement and turn around. Also, a Helena Flats Road resident reported that she believed someone was hunting on her property as they were parked near her barn and kept turning their headlights on and off.

A fed-up process server reported that a Silver Leaf Drive resident hit him and his vehicle with rocks after he served the man his paperwork.

A reckless motorist was arrested for drunk driving after driving a sport utility vehicle through a ditch and into a bridge before speeding over a hill. An animal control officer was called to the scene of the traffic stop to take possession of a pair of pugs that were also in the vehicle.

A woman reported that someone put a heavy chain and padlock on the upper gate to her Whispering Pines property in Bigfork and that her camper shell had been damaged and windows broken out.

Welding leads were taken off of vehicles in the yard of a Stillwater Road shop, and it may have been caught on video.

Someone burglarized a vehicle inside a garage on Lenwood Lane.

Kalispell Police Department officers were called to assist Lake County deputies after a man was found with an accidental gunshot wound. It was unknown whether the accident had occurred in Lake County or Missoula County, and Kalispell officers were asked to interview the patient after he had been treated at Kalispell Regional.

A husband and wife and a young man were all counseled by police after a fight on Third Avenue West North. The young man punched the husband, to whom he owed money. The young man was told he would be arrested if he returned. The husband was also sent away and the woman was advised to take care of her active warrant.

A man in a recreational vehicle was banned from a First Avenue East North property after moving from parking space to parking space, then following an employee to his or her vehicle, standing right outside it and smoking a cigarette.

A man claiming to be God called police, telling the dispatcher “I command you to listen to me” and “you have an emergency and you know where I am.”

A man was struck by a vehicle on North Meridian Road, but refused medical treatment. The motorist was cited.

A drunk man was arrested after refusing to leave a casino on U.S. 93 South. An employee said the man was mumbling incoherently.

A pair of children’s bicycles were stolen on Ninth Avenue West.

Someone smashed the window of a vehicle on Fifth Avenue East and stole a $15 box of clothes and two speakers.

The Whitefish Police Department advised a man he had been banned from a bar on Central Avenue after a bartender reported the man had threatened to beat him up.

A U.S. 93 West business reported that people had been siphoning fuel.

A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Central Avenue.

Columbia Falls Police Department officers responded to a Ninth Street West business after an employee stated that a 10-year-old boy had been caught trying to shoplift. The child’s mother picked him up and the business chose not to pursue charges.

A pair of wallets were stolen from a truck on Eighth Avenue West. The center console was also emptied.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a person on a warrant for a probation violation in the area of old U.S. 93.

The Ronan Police Department investigated a report of partner or family member assault on Third Avenue South West.

The Polson Police Department discovered an incident of trespassing while investigating a report of suspicious activity on 20th Avenue West.
