Robert 'Bob' Ax, 84

Robert “Bob” Ax, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at his home in Kalispell.

Bob was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Glendale, Calif., to Joseph and Maxine Ax.

He was a graduate of Oroville High School in California. Bob was inducted into the Army in 1950 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He was a heavy-duty truck driver and an owner-operator for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, his horses, ranching and loved to dance.

Bob married Marian Moore in 1951 in Oroville. They were married for 61 years. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; son, Gary Ax and his wife, Lorie, of Kalispell; daughter, Teresa Ax of Bozeman; granddaughter, Rika and Dustin Smith; grandson, Arri Lund of Bozeman; two great-grandsons, Titan and Rocket Smith; sister, Virginia Marr of Kalispell; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and a luncheon will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Eagles in Kalispell.
